Nathan Ackroyd is an Associate Professor who specializes in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. His PhD work involved the design and synthesis of organometallic complexes of rhenium for use as radio-imaging agents in the diagnosis of breast cancer. In addition to teaching Organic Chemistry and related courses to science students, Dr. Ackroyd shares the wonder of science with non-scientists through general education classes such as "The Chemistry Between Us" and projects such as "The Science Behind It."
